Aldonia Peters (sometimes seen as “Dona”) was the daughter Of Harold and Ida Cody (or Walton?) Peters. According to her parents, Aldonia was born around May of 1898, but later in life, she may have set her age, because the 1940 census report shows her date of birth as June 10, 1900.
Aldonia married Samuel Clements (who was born in Kentucky), and they resided in Chicago, Illinois. in 1940, their household consisted of the following children: DAUGHTER: Oda/Ola/Ida Mae; SON: George; SON: Larry; DAUGHTER: Inez.
She died in February of 1986 at the age of 86, and is buried at Buried at Alsip, Cook County, Illinois.
During my research, I found a death record for one Rubie Mae Richardson. According to her death record, she was probably a still-born child, born to Aldonia in 1922. Could this be our Aldonia? I don’t know. She was born in Birmingham around 1922, and died in Birmingham on February 4, 1922. Could she have been still-born?
