Welcome Message

WELCOME Family, to the new Peters-Clements-Gazaway Family site AND A BRAND NEW LOOK.  This is the place to come for all things related to our family and upcoming family events….

I’m Charlotte A. Clark-Frieson, and I had the pleasure to travel to New Orleans, Louisiana in July, 2013 to meet for the first time, many of my relatives in the Peters family.  For years, my cousin Valerie Smith, would send me the announcements, and I so wanted to go but never did.   But that Summer, I got up the courage to JUST DO IT!!   It turned out to be one of the BEST VACATIONS I EVER HAD!!! And I have not missed a reunion since.

For me, meeting the descendants of my own ancestors was much like a “home-coming.”   It made me whole, because it allowed me to find the many LOST CONNECTIONS to my mother, which I had longed for so many years.  And believe it, I fell in love with everybody I met, who were descents of Jim and Sarah Peters (later Jim and Joana Peters).

I totally loved it.  After the reunion, I was determined to find a way to stay connected to my extended family, and remain a part of the reunion.  At the 2013 Reunion, somebody mentioned that we should have a website, because we have so much history that has been written down and no way to share it.

So, because one of my talents is web design, I volunteered to design the family a website.  It gives us a way to stay connected and keep up with the news.   THE WEBSITE is an on-going work in progress.    And it is not an OFFICIAL family site.   But, my prayer is that the family will embrace it, and perhaps it will BECOME, the official site for the Peters-Clements-Gazaway families.    I hope you will enjoy and contribute by joining, visiting often, and adding your suggestions to make it a great site for everyone out there who’s looking to return home…

As I continue to research our roots, I invite you to help me make this a wonderful reference for anybody looking for information on the Peters family of Oak Bowery, Alabama.    I thank Valerie, and Wilda, Curly and Ynez and Bea Coley for giving it their all and doing the research on the Peters Clan…  It helped me to find my way home.
