Walter Everette Glover (deceased) was the son of Laura Barrow Glover and Booker Glover. They resided in Anniston, Alabama. His grandparents were Mose and Doshia Peters Barrow.
Walter had no children.
He recently transitioned to the other side in March 1, of this year (2014). How sad that so many of us never knew him. His family paid tribute to his life with the following inspiring words: “As we remember the life of Walter we begin with his birthplace in Anniston, AL, 79 years ago. He was the eldest of six children born to the late Booker and Laura (Barrow) Glover. At the age of 25, he became a lifetime member of the International Union of Bricklayers. He was affectionately called the “Brickman,” and was among the few Black Bricklayers of his time. Walter spent 58 of his 79 years doing what he loved, and his brick work can be seen in New York, Tennessee, New Jersey, Alabama, and Georgia. Walter adorned his three favorite places in the world with his work; where he was born (Anniston, AL), the house he owned (Nyack, NY) and his retirement house (Jacksonville, AL).”
On Walter’s memorial site, his family presents a beautiful show-case of the magnificent brick and stone projects he left behind.
